MONTREAL, October 11, 2022. The responsible food fair, A Taste of Change, took place in Montreal on September 24th! For its 5th edition, the event welcomed over 200 participants and 35 companies withsocial and environmental impact at the heart of their mission.
Bringing together food lovers and responsible food artisans, the fair allowed the latter to discover their products through tastings and presentations. A majority of participants statedthat they were very aware of the environmental and social impacts of their consumption habits and participated in the event in order to “discover producers, artisans and citizens committed to making a concrete difference in society”.
There was a 20% increase in the number of exhibitors and 40% of participants compared to the previous edition in 2019. “We are very proud of our work! More than two thirds of the people present were participating for the first time in an event organized by the Collectif Récolte. This is a great result that exemplifies our efforts to broaden our audience and develop our outreach” says event coordinator, Maggie Cassin.
This year, A Taste of Change launched a new website and developed its presence on social media. The event also premieredthe opportunity to attend two panel discussions and reflections with experts on food waste and fair food prices, two key issues for a responsible and juste future of food.
“[I attended the event] to discover new local businesses and new products in order to integrate them into my personal and professional life, I made some great discoveries!” -Participant testimonial
