La Place Commune is a non-profit solidarity cooperative located in the Parc-Extension district of Montreal. Our mission is to encourage greater food solidarity in the neighborhood, by involving our members and the local population in food and agricultural activities. We offer a community café-restaurant service, an eco-responsible catering service, cultural activities, a community fridge and agricultural projects. In particular, we oversee a local food solidarity network made up of projects and partners working in food production, recovery, processing and redistribution. In 2021, more than 17 tons of fruit and vegetables were collected and redistributed or transformed in restaurants and caterers.
